Style and technology
Christian von Grumbkow's painting moves between abstraction and intuitive expression with often recurring references to landscapes. His paintings are created in several layers by superimposing color fields, blurring, breaking up and painting over visual spaces. Von Grumbkow combines various materials with spatula techniques, glazes or even interventions in the surface. The painting process remains visible in the picture - as an invitation to see more deeply.
